Panel Status

Potential panelists:

Rhonda Scherich Cates, Professor Dance, New York State University - confirmed her interest and attendance

Willy Hinton - just returned from teaching children dance in South Africa; extraordinary male dancer.  Has not yet been approached regarding panelist opportunity.

Seeking 4 additional dance alumni

Targeting a total of 6 panelists (plus Jules as moderator/panelist) spots available.  Jules would like to make final recommendations to Susan Jaffe, Brenda Daniels, and Patricia Casey on August 9, 2018.  

Panelist Introduction Plans:

After a short intro, the moderator will ask each panelist (one-by-one) to share something “professional, personal, and peculiar” about themselves.  Each panelist should speak for approximately 3 minutes (practice and time yourself!). After the first panelist speaks, a brief “video bio” will play (see “Video Bio Requirements” below).  Then we’ll move to the next panelist who will share something professional, personal, and peculiar before his/her video bio plays, etc.  Once all panelists have completed their introductions, we’ll move to the Moderator’s Questions.

Questions to Expect from Moderator:

• What would you consider to be two to three highlights of your life and career, generally related to your training at UNCSA?
• What would you consider to be a low point in your career and what did you learn from it? End with words of wisdom you could give the current UNCSSA dance students?

Each panelist will have the opportunity to answer the above questions before we move on to the Q&A segment. 

Q&A:

Assuming there’s time, we will open the audience microphone up to 3-4 questions which can be directed to any one of us.

Post-event Photo Shoot:

After the event, students and alumni will be invited on stage for a large group photo

Video Bio Requirements:

In order for the event to have a video clip of you for your introduction, please complete the following steps by August 15, 2018:  Upload 8-10 photos HERE which gives a visual story of your life and career.  Please upload the photos in the order in which they should appear in the video montage, starting with a photo of you when you attended UNCSA and ending with a reasonably current photo.  Jules will put your photos into a video montage and share with you by August 21 for final approval.

Town Hall Videotape Plans:

The 2018 Picklestock School of Dance Town Hall meeting will be videotaped.  A link to the video will be provided to each moderator within four weeks of the meeting.
