TDWÂ MAVENS
Meet Anna
My Story
My love for dance started around the time I learned to walk, but I didn’t start lessons until I was 4. I trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and pointe up in the mountains of NC until I left for college. I danced in college on an Asian Hip Hop team with friends, but after I graduated pharmacy school, I left dance for about a decade. I took some fitness classes, and while I enjoyed them, I missed my roots. I stopped those due to an injury and the pandemic, but preparing for my wedding dance rekindled the flame. Â
What TDW Means to Me
When I found The Dancer's Workout®, I knew the hole in my heart was about to be filled. Jules and the team make a point to create a safe space to return to dance and be your vulnerable self. I knew that I had to make time for myself again despite a busy life. Luckily, even though it’s a time commitment, my family is seeing the change in my mood and fitness and has been very supportive. To be in my mid-forties and find community as well as a challenge for my mind and body is truly a blessing; to represent the program for other dancers as a Maven, an honor.
