My Story

I was born and raised here in Raleigh, NC, started dancing at age 3 and immediately fell in love. My favorite season was not summer, fall, winter, or spring, but rather recital season! I was in awe of all of the older dancers above me. I grew up dancing in a smaller studio and it quickly became family. I enjoyed tap, jazz, and ballet and was thrilled to be able to go up on pointe. No matter what style of dance it was, I was just happy to be spending my time moving to good music. I decided to close my dancing chapter after senior year of high school, but realized later on how influential it was in my life. Once I finished college and got into my teaching career, I began searching for a new place to call home since I was not enjoying other workout classes I was trying out. I was lucky enough to know a MAVEN here at TDW who I grew up dancing with so I took a chance on a class and I was hooked! My itch to dance again was satisfied and I was immediately welcomed into a wonderful adult dancing family and I am so lucky to be able to be a part of it!  

What TDW Means to Me

As a 2nd grade teacher who has a dog, I was looking for an outlet to decompress that other workout classes were not satisfying. I tried a lot of Zumba classes but couldn't find a place that challenged my dancer brain as well as my body until I found TDW! Joining the TDW family brought back my love for dancing and movement and I couldn't be happier! Dancing brings me so much joy and I am thrilled to be able to represent TDW as a MAVEN!
