TDWÂ MAVENS
Meet Laura
My Story
I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. I danced on and off from the ages of 4 to 9 and then started dancing regularly at the age of 10. I took jazz, ballet, and modern classes from middle school through college, and I knew I did not want to stop dancing, so I started taking TDW classes. I have always loved movement, and that love sparked my interest in occupational therapy. As an Emory & Henry Doctor of Occupational Therapy graduate, I have a better understanding of how anatomy and dance are connected and the importance of movement, which has helped me further my dance training. I plan to continue to combine my love of dance and occupational therapy to aid my patients in achieving independence in all aspects of their lives.
What TDW Means to Me
TDW is a space where I can let loose and express myself. It is a place of acceptance and support. It is also a place where I can release stress, have fun while exercising, laugh, and have fun with other dancers. Lastly, TDW is a place where I can continue to grow in my dance skills, no matter how old I am. I seek any opportunity to dance because it is what I love to do, and I don't plan to stop dancing anytime soon. I am honored to continue my dance journey as a TDW Maven.
